celebrity style icon

sorry mary-kate, but ashley olsen is a celebrity style icon of mine.  i love that she’s not afraid to try new things with her style and has variety in what she wears.  here are some fashion tips to learn from ashley olsen:

1) accentuate your assets – this dress is beautiful in a soft color, but she really stands out by accentuating what works best for her – those dark lips and the belt around her tiny waist.  what are your best assets?  find a way to make them stand out in your outfit.

2) mix classy with trendy –  the white blazer and black and white colors are classy and sophisticated, while the leggings and strappy heels are hot trends.  don’t go overboard with too many trends at once.  balancing one or two trends with a sophisticated piece makes for a strong outfit.

3) try a bold color or shape – orange is definitely a bold color.  so is a long dress with a square top.  but it looks great on ashley olsen!  sometimes it’s worth trying something new and bold – try out a color that you don’t typically wear.  you might find it looks great with your skin tone and that you have been missing out!

I Love MK and A also! I love their style. Their clothing lines, Elizabeth and James and Row, definitely show how talented they are, and shows their amazing taste choice.

Hello! I have gone ahead and bookmarked http://theclothingmenu.com/2010/02/celebrity-style-icon on Stumble so my friends can see it too. I simply used celebrity style icon | the clothing menu as the entry in my bookmark, as I figured if it’s good enough for you to title your blog post that, then you probably would like to see it bookmarked the same way.
