what i read: end of summer/beginning of fall reads

to end the summer (doesn’t it feel like it was so long ago already? ugh.), i wanted an easy, fun read, so i picked up one day by david nicholls.  it’s a british book about a girl and a guy.  each chapter is the same day, july 17, a year later.  so you get to follow them and how emma and dexter go in and out of each other’s lives over the course of 20 or so years.  it’s being made into a movie to release next year starring anne hathaway, so read the book before the movie comes out!

and to begin the fall, i read another british book, little bee by chris cleave.  it’s about a nigerian refugee who goes to london after a brief meeting in her home country with a british family.  over the course of the book, you find out more about the past of the girl and the family and how they are related.  there are some parts to the book that are a little surprising and tough to read, but it was good overall.

what should i read next?
