I had a conversation with some working women a couple weeks ago about whether or not it’s appropriate to wear flip flops to work. Of course this varies depending on the dress code at the office. But I think overall no matter what type of place you work, the rule of thumb is if you’d wear the shoes to the beach, you shouldn’t wear them to the office. And there are plenty of dressier sandals that let your feet breath, but are more professional than the standard flip flop. Here’s a quick reference for what works and what doesn’t:

I agree! Plus, I think it’s a shame to see a nice outfit brought down by a pair of beach flip flops anyway. If you’re going to put the effort into a fabulous outfit, you want your footwear to compliment it!
My rule of thumb is as follows. I believe that if you must wear a flip flop, it should not be one that you would wear to a beach or a pool. It must have an embellishment. I love wearing flip flops which has stones and beads on them. So it really looks like a jewel on your feet plus it’s comfortable. I can send you a photo of the flip flop I mean.
