A guide to what to wear to a work holiday party

My work holiday party is a big deal.  People dress up for it, get their hair done and get to bring a guest.  It’s usually someplace fancy.  In the past, the holiday parties have been at the Intercontinental and the Mandarin Oriental.   And it’s next week, so I have to figure out what to wear!  I realize not all parties are as fancy as ours, which is also fun.  Even if it’s a small casual party, there are fun little things you can do to get in the holiday spirit.  Here’s some inspiration:

Jaime is one of my co-workers with a dress from Macy’s that she wore to one of our work holiday parties.  A work appropriate, but fun fancy dress with some sparkle!

Clark and Becky are co-workers at BCAE (Boston Center for Adult Education).  They’re dressed here to attend the Punchbowl holiday party at Storyville.

Clark: Sweater and shirt: Banana Republic / Jeans: Levis (his staple – he has 4 pairs in the same wash!) / Boots: Cole Haan

Becky: Dress: ASOS / Deer Tine necklace:  Wicked Peacock / Leggings: Gap / Ankle boots: Nine West Vintage America

Sam from Twin Style had her work party at a party barn! So she needed to stay warm while being festive.

Sweater: Zara / Skirt: J. Crew / Blouse: Banana Republic / Shoes: Aldo / Scarf: Found / Tights: Target / Earrings: Limited

Tara from Mix and Match Fashion is a teacher.  For their work holiday party, they go to a restaurant and play “white elephant”  (or as I call it..yankee swap).

Tee: J. Crew / Cardigan: LOFT / Corduroy pants: LOFT / Shoes: Nine West
