Zooey Deschanel style (for the office)

She acts, she sings and she has great style!  Zooey Deschanel has fun with her vintage-looking style.  One recent outfit of hers that got a lot of buzz was this custom Prada dress paired with tuxedo designed nails that she wore to the Golden Globes earlier this year – very cute! And here’s one of her vintage-looking classic outfits: the floral dress!

Every girl should have at least one floral dress in her closet for the spring/summer months.  If you don’t have one or want to add another one (or two or three – I won’t judge!) to your wardrobe, check these out:

ASOS

Banana Republic

Forever 21

Cobalt blue pants 3 ways

In addition to mint green, cobalt blue is one of the big color trends this season.  The other day at my office, some of us girls noticed that I was wearing a cobalt blue dress, someone else was wearing cobalt blue pants, another person was wearing a cobalt blue shirt and I think there were others too with that color.  If you want to be a part of this trend, I suggest getting a pair of cobalt blue pants.  It is a bit of a tricky color to get creative with, but there are options, like these 3 outfits:

Cobalt blue skinny jeans – Fade to Blue

White blouse – Gracia

Black blazer – Esley from ModCloth

Cobalt blue skinny jeans – Fade to Blue

Polka dot puff sleeve top – Forever 21

Cobalt blue skinny jeans – Fade to Blue

Pink chambray top – Target

Boat shoes – Sebago

What do you think of this color?

Kristy from Toronto is the most stylish accountant I’ve seen!  I adore how she adds some fun and style to what could be a standard collared shirt and skirt outfit.  Making a colorful scarf into a cute bow is a great way to incorporate a pop of color and interest to the outfit.  Check out her blog, Monochroma.Chic to see more of Kristy’s style.

BCAE “To the Nines” exhibit

Last Friday I went to the Boston Center for Adult Education for a reception kicking off their latest exhibit featuring Boston street style photos from the lovely Martini’s blog, Beyond Boston Chic. First off, if you haven’t been to the BCAE, I definitely recommend you check it out.  I attented a fashion writing seminar there last year and was very impressed by the facilities and by all of the affordable classes they offer. Back to the event..Martini shared with us how she got the idea for the blog one day, which combines her passions, photography and fashion, into one blog to show people that Bostonions do have style!

50 of her photos are on display at the BCAE until April 20th, so stop by to see them all in person!  This is one of my favs:

It was also great to see Jaime from La vie..J’aime and Kristen from The Boston Fashionista again.  And to meet Martini, Melissa and Natalie from Boston Day Book, Sami from Glimpse of Glamour, Najeema from A Stylized Hysteria, and Becky from the BCAE!
