Men’s fashion spring 2013: white on white

spring fashion trends men 2013

Hermes / Calvin Klein Collection

Ok guys – this is a risky one, but I had to share it since it was seen multiple times on the spring 2013 runways. Originally, I was going to write about a white pants trend, but then I noticed white pants with a white shirt was trending. I think it’s best to try this out with one piece – whether it’s the pants or the shirt – and then maybe build up to white pants with a white shirt. Although, I think the white on white would only work in warmer climates or on a hot day. What do you think of this trend?

Men’s fashion spring 2013: camo

I’m actually really liking this trend for guys who work in a creative work environment like I do. Camo is a trend that you need to wear in small doses, whether it’s to the office or on weekends, but here are some work appropriate ways to pull off this trend (if you’re in a casual office only!):

Men’s fashion spring 2013: colored pants

Colored pants is a trend many of my male co-workers have been incorporating into what they wear to work. I have one co-worker who has I think at least 5 pairs of Gap colored pants! I know the hardest part with these is figuring out what to wear with them. I’ll have to put together a future blog post about that, but for now you’re safe wearing black, white or gray with any pair of colored pants.

Men’s fashion spring 2013: stripes

menswear spring 2013 stripes

Stripes is one of the trends seen on runways for women and men. This is a staple for any men’s wardrobe – what guy doesn’t own a striped shirt?  There’s nothing at all wrong with that..but this spring, you can try to add stripes to your work wardrobe in some other ways, like through accessories like the Orvis watches. If you wear a tie to work, I definitely recommend you get a striped tie – those were seen a lot on the spring 2013 runways. I’m loving this turquoise Michael Bastian tie.

Work fashion spring 2013: patchwork print

spring fashion 2013 patchwork

Preen / Julien David

I am big fan of mixing prints, so I really like this patchwork print trend because it’s like an evolution of mixing prints. To get this trend look for articles of clothing with varying prints and colors. Since there’s a lot going on in one piece, it’s best to wear a solid color on top or bottom to pair with it for your work outfits.

Work fashion spring 2013: ruffles

spring trends 2013 ruffles

Givenchy / Burberry Prorsum

I love this trend! Because ruffles means peplum and if you know me, you know I like peplum. I like the femininity of it and peplum happen to fits really well on my body shape. The good thing about the ruffles trend is it spans from ruffle detail on a tank to a peplum dress, so there are varying ways you can wear it. What do you think about this trend?

Work fashion spring 2013: bright colors

spring fashion trends 2013 brights

Marchesa / Daniel Vosovic

I really like this trend, especially in the spring and summer. There are so many pretty colors that can brighten up an outfit. I’ll admit, for me, this is a tough trend. I usually wear more muted colors and am not totally comfortable wear bright pieces. However, if you’re like me, there are still ways to incorporate this trend into your outfit through accessories, like necklaces or these cute Kate Spade shoes:

Work fashion spring 2013: floral print

spring fashion 2013 floral

Etro / Bottega Venata

Floral print is a pretty obvious trend for the spring. Even if it wasn’t seen on the runways, it would still be appropriate, which means anything you buy with a floral print will be something you can wear year after year. And this year, floral is bold. The Prabal Gurung for Target collection has lots of floral. I so want the peplum top, but they’re sold out! Anyway, here are some other ways to incorporate bold floral prints into your work wardrobe:

Work fashion spring 2013: black & white

Valentino / Celine

The black and white fashion trend is one of the easiest to incorporate into your work wardrobe. Every woman should own a pair of white jeans for the spring/summer. Just be mindful of the see-through factor. Buy a thicker pair and wear nude colors underneath them! Add a black top and you’re set! If you want to get a little more creative with the black and white trend, try these:
